An Opportunity Taken

Japan, the land of the Rising Sun. It’s known for a myriad of things, from the breathtaking sights, the enthralling culture, and delicious cuisine it has to offer. But Japan isn’t simply about those. No, what truly captures my attention is the drive many embody to further current technology. Japan from time and time again has shown the world the latest, cutting-edge technology from their researchers. A lot of this is due to the high quality education most Japanese students receive. The programs and classes they offer are far more advanced than other countries have to offer, and I simply had to take the opportunity.

When I first heard about this program, I was excited. I had always wanted the opportunity to see what education in Japan was like, but I wasn’t ready to pack up and move to an entirely new country, not when I wasn’t familiar with the language and culture. When I found out that it was only for ten days, I realized that it would be the perfect testing ground. So I applied, and while I honestly didn’t expect to be chosen, here I was anyway.

Words cannot describe how I felt when I found out I was chosen, but I suppose the best ones would be elated and excited. This is an opportunity I’m glad I was able to get, knowing that only select students were chosen to come on this trip. I hope that through this experience, we would be able to learn and expand our views and knowledge about the world.
