Taken Opportunity

When I received the announcement regarding this program, I didn’t really wanted to let this opportunity pass knowing that this is only a once in a lifetime experience but after realizing how heavy our workload is during that moment, I just had to step back a bit and focus more on my academics that’s why I didn’t really bothered at first to fix all the requirements. I was so busy at that time that I actually forgot to track the days and deadlines until my friend, who also tried to apply in this program, reminded me of the deadline (which is really near). After weighing the pros and cons of joining this trip and seeking advice from my parents and friends, I finally decided to go and actually apply for it and after a thorough process of screening, I had received an e-mail telling me that I was accepted into this program and at that time, I couldn’t really contain my emotions for I just crossed something out of my bucket list. I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this ever since junior high school and now that I’ve got to experience it in Japan, where the quality of education is really reputable, I really couldn’t believe it.

Knowing that the program is only for ten days and will already be held after a few months, I don’t really expect that much from the lessons since the classes will be held in Nihonggo, which is the native language of Japan, so to make the most out of the experience, I have decided to observe their class, the teaching styles of most professors, the behavior of the students especially during lectures, and how the professors and teachers interact inside the room. I am really looking forward for this trip and I hope that I will learn a lot about their culture and pick-up some lessons that I could apply later on in my life.
