The first day was truly a pleasant experience, given the fact that it was our first day of contact with the Japanese students. One may opt to say that this was the first step to a lifelong relationship of good memory and sentiment. As we approached the school I remember feeling a cold chill around my neck as we approached the school which seemed quiet and empty. That all changed when we entered our classes, it felt so lively and warm as if I was back in the Philippines. Being next to my buddy, I felt at ease which was much needed on this first day. A lot was going through my mind during class which was taught through Nihongo which made me lose interest and moved me to my original unsettled state. I felt hopeless, contemplating if I’ll ever understand what their teaching. When all seemed to go down crumbling, my partner gave a hand and simplified the terms which immensely aided my understanding. I was amazed by his sense of congeniality which made me glad and thankful for a buddy like him. Which made me look forward to our time together, the idea just gives me joy every time it crosses my mind. I can’t begin to fathom how far motivation brings you and it’s only going to get better, so here’s to the next few days of the program. Kanpai!
