Today we had softball which was something I looked forward to all week due to the fact that I was a baseball player. Before the game, the students had a routine which was a combination of stretching and conditioning which was distant from what we usually practice in the Philippines. We split the teams into two and made our way to the field to play some ball. As we were playing, I observed their behavior and I was impressed by how they played with such sheer sportsmanship and kindness.
Back in the Philippines, this kind of behavior is rare even in the smallest games played by the smallest children. It got me thinking about how far these Japanese have made it through time and I compared it to our progress back in the Philippines which appalled me. We could learn a lot from these people which could be used for the betterment of our own country. These small details have always interested me to seek
Aside from my deep contemplation, the food was amazing. Who would’ve known that these simple bento boxes would have such savory and clean taste? It made me excited for the next lunch breaks which inspired my imagination for the next set of Bento boxes as I thought of bigger chunks of meat and flavorful vegetables. I can honestly say, anything is good in Japan from the food to the people it’s truly something to cherish and share with others. It makes me wonder how soon I can come back to this country and if I could stay longer.
