Familiar experiences

The students, contrary to initial presumptions, are not very different from Filipino students. The teens still experience familiar problems and pleasures that students in the Philippines do. They very much enjoy eating out, shopping, playing video games during breaks, and, the most reassuring of all, sleeping during class. The extroverted guys are the easiest to get along and exchange banter with, while the more reserved ones share converse interesting topics. However, almost all of the students kindle a burning passion for something - be it sports, anime, or future careers - that is nothing short of inspiring. Surprisingly, the students had shown, in their personal ways, the same Filipino hospitality that we celebrate back home. I look forward to spending the rest of the program with my new classmates and friends.
